This is Ms. Brooke Flower's first year teaching 3rd & 4th grade at our school, and we are very excited to add her to our family! Ms. Flower says her hometown is Earth. She’s lived in 8 cities, 4 states, and now resides in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education.
“I'm the kind of teacher that likes to make learning fun and creative. I think it's important for my students to enjoy the things they are learning and to have fun with it. I also encourage my students to ask questions and to dive into a deeper way of thinking as we learn various things. There is a great big universe out there and it deserves to be explored. In my classroom, my students will be scientists, writers, thinkers, doers, explorers, artists, and anything they want to be. We will never stop asking questions, never stop wondering, and never stop having fun.
My favorite thing about teaching is sparking new ideas and better understandings in my students. My favorite subjects to teach are Math & Science. I like to think of math as a puzzle and I think that it can be a lot of fun. Math is everywhere around us, so we might as well make it into something enjoyable. I also love science because God has created an incredible and beautiful world for us. I think it's amazing to be able to explore His creations and the designs He has made.
When I’m not teaching, I’m happiest snuggling with my cat, drinking coffee, or exploring new places. I’m trying to learn Spanish and am always trying new recipes. One thing about me most people don’t know is that I can name most any Disney song after the first 10 seconds of hearing it.”
Ms. Flower's Favorite Bible Verse
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
