Reopening Announcement

Dear Parents, School is just around the corner and there are just so many unknowns out there for all of us. COVID 19 has thrown a curve to all of our lives. We need to remember that God is still in control and to continue to pray as we get through this trial. Remember, we will get through this even though it may take a while.

For school, our plans were to open 5 days per week but that is just not recommended or feasible for us to do at this time. So, we will open on AUGUST 19, 2020 (Wednesday) with a split schedule.


Group A will have in-person school on Mondays and Wednesdays and Group B will come to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Everyone will be in virtual school on the days they do not attend school in person and on Fridays. School will begin at 8:15 am and get out at 3:15 pm. Latchkey will be available for students on their group days until 6:00 pm (also at 7:00 am).


This split schedule will allow EJA to provide proper social distancing and to implement recommended Health Department safety measures during the day.

  • All students will be required to wear face coverings (face mask or a face shield) while at school.

  • We will be doing sanitizing during the day when students change physical locations

  • There will be increased handwashing.

  • Physical barriers (acrylic and clear plastic dividers) will be used to increase safety.

  • We will be checking everyone’s temperature and if a child has a temperature above 100.4 degrees, they will not be allowed into the building at that time.

  • Parents are not allowed into the building past the office without an appointment.

  • We ask that you wait in your vehicle as you drop your child(ren) off until we tell you that everything is OK for you to leave. Also, any obvious health condition could result in your child not being allowed in the school facility on that day.

  • We do ask that you keep your child home if they have any symptoms of sickness.

All of our steps are in place to help keep your child, you, other family members, and our teachers safe.


On school at home days, students will be required to be in our virtual school- attendance will be taken multiple times during the day to comply with state attendance requirements. The virtual and in-person school teaching will coincide with each other -- the same assignments and the same instruction. We realize there will be some limitations while the student is at home but we will have measures in place to reduce these as much as possible. We ask that you, the parent, help us in making sure that your child has a dedicated place in your home to “attend” school and to complete their assignments.


For all students, we will have assignments published in Google Classroom. Parents will have access to view the grade book in Jupiter for their child and can see what assignments are turned in to the teacher. Each student will have contact with the teacher and/or a teacher’s aide every school day through Google Classroom and Google Meets (the video share program). We will be using Class Dojo for most of our contacts with parents. There will be required video sessions with the teacher each day. Students and parents will be able to ask questions to help “things” run smoothly. Parents should use Class Dojo to contact the teacher and please be patient. Remember that it may be some time before your child’s teacher answers your question during school hours. Students will have online access through their portal with the Teacher or Aide during the school day.


Class activities and assignments will need to be completed on a timely basis. There will be clearly defined due dates for assignments. Teachers and parents will need to work together to help their students/children to be diligent in completing their assignments. Grading will be for work/assignments completed and a student can be held back a grade level at the end of the year for not putting forth the effort needed to learn.





We ask that parents make an appointment (call the office or use email with the school) to come by and pick up computers, books and supplies on Monday, August 17th or Tuesday, August 18th. Parents will need to sign/complete any needed registration paperwork at that time. Also, we will be offering private music lessons in violin, guitar, and piano as we have done in past years. Please remember that all of this is temporary.



We are still praying to complete school normally this year (with 5 days per week, in school classes). Safety for everyone must take priority. We will begin with a split schedule. We will transition into virtual or in-person school as the situation warrants. I ask that everyone continue to pray for each other - our children/students, our teachers, our churches, and our school.
